Mr. Douglas Alan Young, better known as Alan, age 59 of Sparta, passed away at 4:29pm Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Alan was a St. Patrick's Day baby, born March 17, 1964 in Muncie, Indiana. He was a truck driver, welder and farmer. He was a self taught musician loving to play guitar, drums and sing. When he was not playing music, he enjoyed horseback riding. He is preceded in death by his mother Faye Houston.

Survivors include his wife Karolyn Young

Father: Douglas B. Young and wife Marie

Step-children: Ryan Frasier, Brently Curtis, Chad Curtis and Cody Curtis

Step-sister: Janet Farley

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, June 26, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home.
