Andre' Edward Whitaker age 89, was born April 21, 1933 in Bybee, TN.  He passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Royal Keith and Bertha Hansel Whitaker, Brothers: Howard and Ivan Whitaker, Sisters: Pauline Burgen, Mary Lincus, Nina Arnett and Byrl Noe.

Survivors include his Wife: Gladys Whitaker

Sons: Brian (Julie) Whitaker of Monroe, TN, Mark Whitaker of Livingston, TN

Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

He is also survived by Step-Sons: Steve (Tena) Qualls and Stacy (April) Qualls

He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Rochester, a heavy cruiser that carried the Admiral during the Korean War. He was an avid antique car owner and belonged to the Good Time Cruisers. He was also a member of the Gold Wing Roadriders-Chapter "U" of Cookeville, TN and a member of Christ Point Church on Liberty Square in Sparta.

Andre' was also Retired Law Enforcement, serving as a police officer in Indiana and a security guard in California.

Funeral services will be held on Monday August 22, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friend on Monday from 11:00 A.M. till time of the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DAV, Disabled American Veterans or Macular Degenerative Research.
