Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Hummon McNeal, age 90 of Sparta, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Life Care Center of Sparta.

Ann was born May 25, 1935 in Wauseon, Ohio to the late Clair Talmidge and Kathryn Kaleb Kissel Hummon. After a brief career as a dental assistant and telephone operator, Ann proudly settled into motherhood and raised her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed growing indoor plants. She enjoyed accompaning her husband on fishing trips so that she could sit in the boat and read.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her siblings, John J. Hummon, Mary Ellen Grantham and Nancy Clair Culp.

Surviving family members include her husband Ronald Eugene McNeal

Son: Ronald E. McNeal, Jr. and wife Renee

Daughter: Kathryn A. Burgos and husband John

Grandchildren: Meaghan Stewart and husband Robert, Connor McNeal and wife Jeniffer, Morgan Gould and husband Scott, Ian Burgos and Jacqueline Burgos

Five great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Caleb,Riley, Adelynn and Zander

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Ann's cremation. Details for a memorial service in June will be announced closer to time.
