Mr. Arlon Dwain Sims, better known as Dwain, age 73 of Sparta, passed away at 1:56pm Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dwain was born May 30, 1948 in White County to the late Joe B. and Virginia Carter Sims. Dwain was a electrician, plumber and carpenter. He served in the United States Navy on board the U.S.S. Yancey. His passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Erica Sims; brothers, Joe Sims, Steve Sims and Darryl Sims; niece Amanda Sims and nephew Kelton Holloway.

Survivors include his son Burt Sims

Grandchildren: Madelyn (Jonathan) Stockton, Hannah-Kate Sims, Kalen Sims, Marshall Sims, Laynna Sims, Ava Rae Sims

Great-granddaughter: Kimber Lynn Sims

Brothers: Carl (Patsy) Sims, Teddy Sims, Dale (Brenda) Sims

Sister: Lynn (Earl) Holloway

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Graveside services with military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will be conducted 11:00am Monday, February 21, 2022 at Highland Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation prior to the service. Carl Sims and Dale Sims will officiate.
