Mr. Arthur Lee Simmons, affectionately known as Ott, age 70 of Sparta, passed away Thursday evening, January 20, 2022 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

Ott was born on Valentine's Day 1951 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Rev. William Rolis "Bill" & Velma Ruth Davis Simmons. Ott was an avid wrestling fan. He was in front of the television every Monday and Friday nights with a bag of Peanut M&M's for wrestling. He enjoyed smoking cigars and a pipe. Ott also had an impressive memory, never forgetting a phone number after hearing it only once. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers James R. and Paul Andrew Simmons.

Surviving family members include his sisters, Treva Faye (Wayne) Jackson, Billie Ruth Paige

Brother: John Thomas Simmons

Special niece: Valerie (Stacy) Brady

Nieces and nephews: Monica, Angela, Troy, Jody, Tracy, William "Bub", Ally, Jocelyn and Kelysie

A host of great nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, January 22, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until service time Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Marty Carr will officiate.

William Jackson, Dustin Jackson, Stacy Brady, Kenneth Simmons, Glen Conley and Cherokee Fithian will serve the family as pallbearers.
