Mrs. Barbara June Blanton, age 79 of Cookeville, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at NHC of Cookeville.

Barbara was born April 5, 1945 in Morgantown, West Virginia to the late Bud William and June Elizabeth McNemar. She was a former shirt factory worker and shirt factory security guard. She had a fiery spirit but was very sweet in her matter of fact ways. During the afternoons, she was entertained by the soap operas, especially General Hospital but her evening entertainment revolved around WWE and The Rock. Her passion in life was being Granny to her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Richard Hanks Blanton; daughter Patty Housely; son James Randolph Cooper.

Grandchildren: June Hales, Carla Cutright, Kayla Cutright, Sammy Cutright, Timmy Cutright, Dorothy Bennett, Krissy Bowe and David Lough

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home.
