Mrs. Bessie Mae Holloway England, age 92 of Sparta, passed away at 11:18am Monday October 9, 2023 at her residence.

Bessie was born August 16, 1931 in the Calfkiller Community of Putnam County to the late Dallas & Nicie Foster Holloway. She was a loving homemaker and proud preacher's wife. Her ministry was being by her husband's side for the countless Freewill Baptist Churches he served in Middle Tennessee and throughout his 62-year radio ministry. Bessie was a nurse to her family in time of sickness, always willing to feed and take care of everyone. She will forever be remembered for her chicken and dumplins, buttermilk pies, and having her camera in hand.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, David Lee England who died February 12, 2021; grandson David Curtis England; sister Aline Johnson and brother Cordell Holloway.

Survivors include her three sons: Lester (Ramona) England, Manuel (Annette) England all of Sparta, Michael (Donette) England of Stuart, FL

Six grandchildren: Matthew (Emily) England, Marcus (Rachel) England, William (Lauren) England, Drema (Zeb) Allison, Meghan England and husband Devin, Lauren England and husband Luke, Logan England

Great grandchildren: Katie, Mason, Creed, Braelyn, Lochland, Remington, Thomas, Emma, Abe and Patton

Brother: Delbert Holloway

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Sparta First Freewill Baptist Church with burial in Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville Community. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Wednesday at the church. Bro. Rudy Oakes and Bro. Jonathan Baker will officiate.

Matthew England, Marcus England, William England, Logan England, Zeb Allison and Carl "Buddy" Elrod will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Phillips, Luther Parsley, Manuel Bennett and Jeremy Phillips
