Betty Jo Cole Davis, age 82 of Sparta passed away Monday, May 20, 2024. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed peacefully at her home with family present to hold her hand and love her till the end.  She lived all her life in Sparta, TN.  She was born July 4, 1941 to the late Cecil Cole and Maude Stoglin Cole of the Cole's Chapel Community.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Barney Davis, Grandson, Alex Sparks,  son-in-law, Charles Biggs, brothers, Arnold Cole and Cordell Cole and sister-in-law, Ruby Cole.

Betty Jo was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She loved to work in her garden, sewing, and canning.  Family always came first in her life and was loved by so many.

She is survived by her daughter:  Deborah Goines Biggs

Grandson:  James Brandon (Brynda) Sparks of Nashville

Sister: Ruth Baker

Barney's son's whom she was an important part of their lives: Barney (Kibby) Davis, Jr.  and C.R. Davis

Numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were a part of her life.

Special Thanks to her niece, Donna Baker Smith who helped take care of her every day until her death.

Betty Jo's wishes was for a Graveside Service, which will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Elrod Cemetery.  Bro. Michael Conley will officiate the service.
