Mrs. Betty Carolyn Smith Eller, age 78 of Sparta, passed away at 6:15am on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Life Care Center of Sparta.

Betty was born May 21, 1944 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Thurman & Eva Henry Smith. She was a retired food factory worker. She loved dancing and was an avid bowler. Betty took pride in her yard and garden and loved to cook for her family. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Jerry Eller; sisters Linda Carol Vinson and Sandra Kaye Franklin.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her two sons Billy DeWayne Turner and wife Karen, Richard DeWayne Eller and wife Lisa

Grandchildren: Billy Joshua Turner, Samantha Kaye Turner, Anthony Jerry Eller, Christal Dodson and Clinton Dodson

Several great-grandchildren also survive

Betty's family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with her cremation and a memorial service will be conducted 4:00pm Thursday, September 1, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 3:00pm Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Joe Sullivan will officiate.
