Mr. William Mack Marchbanks, affectionately known as Billy Mack, age 81 of Sparta, passed away at 11:40pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

Billy Mack was born October 4, 1940 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Will Jarvis & Nell Floyd Marchbanks. He had a vast work career that included retail sales, office work, factory work at Thomas Industries, selling Encyclopedias, shoes and insurance. However, many White Countians will remember him best as a life guard. Billy Mack proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a former Golden Glove Boxing Champion. He was a longtime member of Sparta First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Stanton Marchbanks and nephew Kelly Miller.

Survivors include his four sisters Barbara Holder, Linda (Gary) Selby, Janie (Flavy) Miller all of Sparta, Sue (Dan) Drinnen of Dickson, TN

Nieces and nephews: Mike (Jen) Holder, Mark (Jackie) Holder, Marty Holder, Danny (Beth) Drinnen, Missy (Rob) Pacha, Lane Drinnen, Matt Drinnen, Brian (Melody) Miller, Dustin Miller, Neil (Rhonda) Goodwin, Jenny (Chris) Thacker, Laurie Ann (Dustin) Neeley and Cameron (Amanda) Selby

A host of great-nieces, nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews also survive

Memorial services will be held Friday February 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. till time of the services.
