Mr. Loyd  Eugene McCurry better known to everyone as Bo, age 71 of Sparta, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Bo was born November 29, 1954 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Loyd and Lona Bussell McCurry. His work career spanned from Joe Collier construction to later retiring from Thomas Industries as a shipping clerk. In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman and a regular fixture at the softball fields. In his later years, he enjoyed sitting on the porch playing with the family dog Abby and watching football.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his siblings Mildred Alexander, Charles McCurry, Leroy McCurry
Phyllis Webb and Darlene McCurry.

Surviving family members include his three sons, Richie (Kendra) McCurry, Jamey (Adrienne) McCurry and Joey (Tiffanye) McCurry

Grandchildren: Braxton, Tryston, Abby, Alizabeth, J.J., Mackenzie, Scarlett and Neyland McCurry

Sister: Frances Lee

Two brothers: Ricky McCurry and Danny (Tammy) McCurry

Two great nephews: Gabriel and Jase Young

Special niece: Makayla Mitchell

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, April 25, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Dewey Young will officiate.

Jordan Young, Braxton McCurry, Chris Young, Donnie Alexander, Ricky McCurry and Danny McCurry will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Tryston McCurry and Ronnie Alexander
