Mr. Clyde Brown Slatton, better known as C.B. to friends and affectionately known as Pa B by his family, age 80 of the Lost Creek Community passed away at 9:52am Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

C.B. was born September 21, 1941 in the Center Point Community to the late Clyde and Nola Vannetta Slatton. He retired from Mallory after 34 years of service. C.B. was an avid coon hunter and loved playing music on his electric guitar. He was a self-taught guitar player with the ability to play most any instrument by ear. C.B. enjoyed visiting with people, always making them laugh with the funny stories he would share. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carolene Sue Johnson Slatton who died December 20, 2019; sisters, Nell Slatton Boyd and Betty Jo Slatton Maltby.

Surviving family members include his daughter Teresa Slatton Sherrell and husband Danny

Granddaughter: Tandy Vaughn and husband Kevin

Grandson: Matthew Sherrell

Great-grandson: Brantley Vaughn

Three sisters: Dean Palmieri, Brenda Moody and Judy Clay

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Friday, April 1, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Lost Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Friday at Hunter Funeral Home. Chuck Leonard will officiate.

Bobby June, Wes Boyd, Jeff Johnson, Gary Moody, Edward Burchett and Ronnie Burchett will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Sherrell, Matt Sherrell, Kevin Vaughn and Brantley Vaughn.
