Mr. Carl Samuel Wallace, age 72 of Sparta, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

Carl was born March 28, 1950 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Samuel Edwin and Mae Estress Stover Wallace. He was retired from Olympus where he served many years as a lab technician and with his vast knowledge of the equipment he ultimately became a sales representative for the company. After retirement, he enjoyed his daily routine of sitting and visiting at McDonald's and then banking at US Bank, One Bank and Citizens Bank. Carl was a grandfather to not only his grandchildren but to all of this great nieces and nephews as well. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister Kathryn Mayfield and nephew Earl Steven Mayfield.

Surviving family members include his daughter Cristal Mitchell of Sparta

Son: Steven Degenhardt of Nashville

Grandsons: Andrew Mitchell, Dakota Mitchell and Carl Mitchell

Nieces: Sherry Mayfield and Lisa Mayfield

Special Aunt: Eudean Colson

Several great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive

Funeral services will be condcuted 1:00pm Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Hunter Funeral Home. In honor of Carl's wishes, he will be cremated following his funeral. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Tom McCulley will officiate.
