Mr. Carlin Pitman, age 95 of Southgate, Michigan, a native of White County, passed away Wednesday November 16, 2022.

Mr. Pitman was born August 22, 1927 in Sparta, Tennessee. He was the last surviving child of the nine born to the late Rev. John B. and Gusta Elizabeth Hitchock Pitman. He was a retired truck driver and veteran of the United States Army. Carlin was a also a member of the Masonic Lodge and longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents and all of his siblings, he is also preceded in death by his wife Johnie R. Petty Pitman who passed away on December 28, 2010.

Surviving family members include his children: Danny (Randa) Pitman, Colette (Tony) Amato and Sherry Pitman

Grandchildren: Andrea (Jeff) Mijat, Nichole (Andrew) Traugh, Adam (Tiffany) Pitman, Aaron Pitman, Anthony Amato, and Jessica (Michael) Turgeon

Great-grandchildren: Sophie, Seth, Adeline, Alden, Ada and John

Great-great-grandchild: Kendall

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Monday, November 21, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in Saylors Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 5:00pm Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 4:00pm. Jeff Howard will officiate.
