Mrs. Cathy Jo Mizar McCall, age 70 of Sparta, passed away at 10:15am Sunday, October 6, 2024 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Cathy was born February 12, 1954 in Pueblo, Colorado to the late William Chester and Dorothy Juanita Searcy Mizar. Cathy was a longtime secretary for the Southern Baptist Stewardship Commission. She also taught preschool at a variety of churches throughout the Upper Cumberland. She was a member of First Baptist Church Cookeville. She enjoyed traveling and liked to spend her free time sewing, quilting and gardening. She was active in several clubs and groups associated with those hobbies.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years Stephen Thomas McCall

Two daughters: Stacy Lynn Lutwinski and husband Mike, Renee Elizabeth Parsons and husband Jonathan

Brother: Gary Dean Mizar and wife Rita

Brother-in-law: John Douglas McCall

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Friday, October 11, 2024 at First Baptist Church Cookeville with burial in Saylors Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm on Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home and after 9:30am Friday at the church. Bill Stone will officiate.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse in memory of Cathy.
