Mr. Charles Douglas Howell, age 64 of Sparta, passed away at 4:55pm Sunday, June 18, 2023 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Charles was born May 5, 1959 in Sparta, Tennessee to Joyce Clouse Howell and the late William Vernice Howell. He served 12 years in the United States Navy. Following his Naval career he had a variety of jobs until he founded his passion, Furever Pet Transport. He transported domestic animals, mostly dogs to destinations all over the country for owners that did not want to fly their four legged companions. Charles was a member of Findlay Church of Christ. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Patterson Holland Glover Howell who died April 9, 2021.

Sister: Vickie Wilmoth and husband James

Brother: Bruce Howell

Step-daughter: Debra Jean Glover

Nieces: Misty Fortner and Natasha King

Nephews: William Wilmoth, Ethan Wilmoth and Michael Howell

Twelve great-nieces and nephews also survive

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Clouse Cemetery. There will be no public visitation prior to the service. Jonathan Burns will officiate.
