Mr. Charles Thomas Young, age 74 of Walling, passed away Thursday morning, August 25, 2022 at his residence.

Charles was born April 30, 1948 in the Gum Spring Mountain community to the late Thurman Ray and Willie Mae England Young. He was a retired truck driver, most notably 27 years with AmeriGas. He was a fixture around the dirt tracks of the Upper Cumberland and Middle Tennessee both as a driver and in the flag booth as a flagman at several area tracks. If he was not at the track, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother David Young; nephews Thomas Young, Butch Cope and Greg Cope; son-in-law Richie Summers.

Sister: Mary Cope & Charles

Mother of his Children: Brenda Young

Funeral services will be conducted 2pm Sunday, August 28, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Young Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at noon on Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home. Johnny Spivey will officiate.

Zack Summers, Dylan Summers, Colt Young, Roger Haston, Joe Reed, Jerry Knowles, Terri Serena and Larry Martin will serve the family as pallbearers.
