Mr. Charlie Lee Scott, Sr., age 74 of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly at 10:34pm on Friday, January 17, 2025 in the Emergency Room of St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

Charlie was born December 10, 1950 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Jimmy and Mollie Lorene Turrington Scott. He was one of the founders of Scott Logging and Lumber. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed his fishing in a fast boat. Most of all he loved being Pa and Big Charlie to his family. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Jimmy C. "Jimburr" Scott who died October 4, 2024.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Verna Ruth Barlow Scott

Two sons: Charlie Lee Scott, Jr. and wife Tonya, Barry Scott and wife Jennifer

Grandchildren: Bryan, Emilee, Matthew, Jacob and Alex Scott

Sisters and their spouses: Ava and Rick Mahler, Brenda and William Trute, Glenda and David Zuber

Charles and Beverly Justice and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Charlie Scott, Bryan Scott, Barry Scott, Matthew Scott, Jacob Scott, Alex Scott and Shawn Graham will serve as pallbearers.
