Mr. Chris Allen Young, age 56 of the Gum Springs Mountain Community, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at St. Thomas Specialty Select Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Chris was born December 21, 1967 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late John Franklin and Reba Joyce Cunningham Young. He was a saw filer and former truck driver but was very well known for making knives out of deer antlers. Chris loved games from board games to winning trophies pitching horse shoes with his brother Johnny. Chris was an avid hunter, especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his three children: Heather (Shawn) Dillon, Alicia Jarrett, Sarah (Daniel) Shockley

Grandchildren: Danny, Noah, Arabella, Caden, Spencer, Zoe, Hunter and Autumn

Two brothers: Johnny Young, John "Pee Wee" Young

Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Hensley's Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after 9:00am Sunday at the church. Mike Kirby will officiate. In honor of Chris's wishes, he will be cremated following his funeral service.

Clayton Young, Bubba Young, Shawn Dillon, Jeremy Youngblood, Joey Young and Matthew Cunningham will serve the family as pallbearers.
