Christopher Lynn Taylor, age 43 of Cookeville passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the St Thomas Highlands Hospital.

Chris or Cricket as he was affectionately known by his family was born July 17, 1980 in Cookeville Tennessee to Willie Mae Johnson "Polly" Taylor and the late Will Franklin Taylor who died November 11, 2017. Chris was a truck driver for ECMD and covered the southeastern United States. As a child his Friday nights at 7:00pm were devoted to the Dukes of Hazzard and that love for the Dukes continued for the rest of his life. His fondness for the General Lee may have spawned his love for drag racing and working on cars. His greatest love was for his two sons and his family. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Oakley Clay and Mary Effie Delk, Avert Johnson, James Thomas and Emily Maude Taylor.

Survivors include his two sons: Julian Jay Taylor and Kevin Ray Taylor

Mother: Willie Mae "Polly" Taylor

Brothers: Franklin (April) Taylor and Joshua (Monica) Taylor

Several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Young Cemetery in Jackson County. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Johnny Westmoreland and Jason Lewis will officiate.

Jonathan Westmoreland, Mikey Westmoreland, Kenneth Mahan, Robert Vickers, Mike Mahan, Ricky Keen, Dakota Fay and Anthony Zimel will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jericho McCurry and Trevor Taylor
