Mr. Sherman Clifford Goodwin, better known as Clifford, age 90 of Sparta, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at his residence.

Clifford was born October 19, 1934 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late William Gairret and Ethel Roberts Goodwin. He retired from Red Kap after 36 years of service. He loved to work, in addition to his factory work, he was a dairy farmer and logger. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers, Eugene Goodwin, Plennie Goodwin, John G. Goodwin, Ollen C. Goodwin and Charlie Goodwin; sisters Velma Ruth Hedgecoth and Bessie Tollison.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Linda Whiteaker Goodwin

Children: Danny Goodwin and wife Kimetha, Darrell Goodwin and wife Melanie and Tammy and husband Adam Hickey

Grandchildren: Daniel Goodwin, Christopher Goodwin, Natalie Goodwin, Reagan Goodwin, Addie Hickey and Laurie Hickey

Niece: Darlene Goddard and husband Mike

Man's Best Friend: Annie

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Thomas McCulley and Jim Tollison will officiate.

Daniel Goodwin, Christopher Goodwin, Caleb Tollison, Michael James, Adam Hickey and Chris Phillips will serve as pallbearers. Kevin Phillips is a honorary pallbearer.
