Mr. Clyde D. Parris, born July 20, 1933 in Pickett County to the late Andrew and Inez Jolley Parris, passed away October 4, 2022 at Life Care Center of Sparta at the age of 89.

When he was 10 years old, the family relocated to the Doyle area. Like so many other families that had to move because of the Dale Hollow Dam. Clyde was a cattle farmer and was known from Louisana to Canada for his knowledge and expertise in raising registered Angus cattle.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Cleston Parris and infant son Steven Dudley Parris.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years Mildred Sorrell Parris

Two daughters: Babetta Scott and husband Jerry, Chris Barlow and husband Jerry

Grandchildren: Leslie Wehage and husband Nathan, Rachel Rice and husband Tyler, Andrew Barlow

Great-grandchildren: Vaughn, Campbell and Arlo Wehage, Maren Rice

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12:00pm Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home. Ken Wallace will officiate.
