Mrs. Cora Belle Hall Hutson Holtzclaw, age 89 of Sparta, passed away Tuesday morning, March 14, 2023 at her residence.

Cora was born February 7, 1934 on Phifer Mountain in Putnam County. She was one of fourteen children born to the late Samuel Eddie and Nancy Carolyn Short Hall. She was a former shirt factory worker in Smithville and Sparta. She later went on to be one of the first hires for Mallory and ultimately retired there with many awards for her hard work and dedication. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening and watching the red birds and blue birds. Her favorite time spent was with family and playing Skip Bo with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husbands Kenneth Hutson and Frank Holtzclaw; children, James "Jim" Hutson and Jeanette Tenpenny who passed away on December 13, 2022; step-daughter Patricia Holtzclaw and twelve siblings.

Survivors include her daughter Reba Gentry

Several great and great-great-grandchildren also survive

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

In honor of Cora's wishes, Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of her cremation and the family will receive friends Friday, March 17, 2023 from 3-5:00pm in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home.
