Obituary

Mr. Dallas Davis age 75 of Sparta, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dallas was born December 17, 1945 in Cumberland County to the late Arthur & Lillie Kerley Davis.  He had a work career that spanned from Crossville Rubber to the oil fields in Texas, eventually retiring from Red Kap.  He was an avid fisherman, gardener and ginseng hunter. His hard work ethic carried over into his hobbies, as was evident in the pride he took in his tomato garden and crop each year. His tomatoes were sold at the Farmer's Market as well as Floyd's grocery store. Dallas served his country in the U.S. Army guarding the Berlin Wall during the Vietnam War.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a grandson Elijah Hunter Davis.

Survivors include his wife Helen Davis with whom he married August 6, 1965 of Sparta

Son: Sam Davis and wife Becky of Sparta

Grandchildren: Seth Davis, Brayden Davis, Chelsea Trejo

Great-grandchildren: Winston Davis, Kallon Trejo and Samuel Trejo

Sisters: Gladys Davis of Crossville and Classie Christopher (C.H.) Westel

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Memorial services will be conducted 4:00pm Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Smith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00pm from until service time at the church. Charles Christopher and Wayne Sullivan will officiate.

The family respectfully asks that all guests visiting the church to please wear a mask.
