Mr. Daniel Paul Young, Sr., age 50 of the Gum Springs Mountain Community passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2026 at his residence.

Daniel was born April 4, 1976 in Smithville, Tennessee to Charlie Ray "Buster" and Patricia Jane "Patty" Vanatta Young. He was former employee of White County Lumber for several years as a saw sharpener. He enjoyed fishing but most of all he loved devoting his time to his children and grandchildren.

Daniel is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pauline and Paul Young, Mary and Grundy Young; mother in law June Young and brother in law Eric Young.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 28 years Tina S. Young

Daughters: Abby, Ericka, Maddie, Adaline, Amelia and Layla Young

Sons: Daniel Young, Jr. and Dalton Young

Grandchildren: Remington Mason, Riverlynn Mason, Eleanora Young arriving in October and Rynleigh Mason arriving in September

Parents: Buster and Patty Young

Brothers: Grundy Young and Barry (Lindsy) Young

Sisters: Kim Young,  Kelly (Andrew) Hall, Shelley (Dakota) Randolph

Father-in-law: Rick Young

Sister in law: Betty (Larry) Henry

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Young Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Don Shuster will officiate.

Hunter Mason, Johnny Darrell Young, Jamie Young, Jason Holder, Dustin Brady and Bubby Young will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Barry Young
