Mr. Daniel Clinny Wagner, better known as Danny, age 66 of Sparta, passed away at 4:16am on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Danny was born June 5, 1959 in High Point, North Carolina. He was a longtime brick and block mason. Danny was a motorcycle enthusiast and avid fisherman. He always enjoyed trading and looking for the next good deal.

Danny is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Edwina Griffin Navy; father Earl Junior Wagner and a brother John Wagner.

Survivors include his two sons Tim Wagner and wife Wendy, James Wagner

Grandchildren: Jeremy, Jacob, Jazmine, Justin, Jesse and Gabriel Wagner

Great-granddaughter: Lillian Wagner

Two sisters: Sandra Kay Wagner and Susan Rhue

Three brothers: Kenneth Wayne Wagner, Tommy Wagner and Donald Wagner

Mother of his children: Sherri Prater

The Wagner family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with Danny's cremation and a memorial service will be conducted 2:00pm Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 1:00pm Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Danny Parker will officiate.
