Mr. David Lee Barnes, age 70 of Doyle, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

David was born August 9, 1951 in White County to the late Charles "Mutt" and Betty Knowles Barnes. He was a master mechanic. He loved building and racing cars whether it was dirt track or drag racing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Terry Barnes and step-daughter Cheryl Dodson.

Survivors include his wife Letha Ann Barnes

Children: Jeff (Denise) Barnes, Jason (Tasha) Johnson, John (Amanda) Barnes, Shawn Dodson and Jessie Dodson

Grandchildren: Jasper Young, Krista Johnson, Justin Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Chadra Johnson, Abigail Carter, Kaiden Barnes, Dylan Barnes and Whitney Randolph

One great-grandchild: Tatum Edward Johnson

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with David's cremation and a memorial service will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Doyle Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation prior to the service. Buster Young will officiate.
