Deborah Ruth Gunnels, age 71 of Sparta, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at her residence.  She was born March 20, 1953 in Sparta, Tenn to the late Stacy and Lillie Dial Gunnels.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Jenny Gunnels, Katherine Butler, & Patsy Stewart,  brothers: Gary Gunnels and Jim Gunnels.

Mrs. Deborah was a retired nurse and member of West Sparta Church of Christ

She is survived by her children:  Chris (Kristy) Wilson and Todd (Jennifer) Wilson

Grandchildren:  Alexis Hatmaker, Kaden Hatmaker, Ty Wilson, &  Aubrey (Alex) Powell

Great-grandchild:  Asher Powell

Brother:  Paul (Mary) Gunnels

Sisters:  Brenda (Billy) Daniels and June King

along with numerous nieces and nephews

GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Old Zion Cemetery.  Justin Turney will officiate the service.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital in her memory.
