Mrs. Della Marie Adcock Howard, better known as Marie, age 87 of the Cherry Creek community passed away at 6:18pm Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Marie was born May 10, 1936 in Dekalb County to the late Henry and Miranda Pittman Adcock. In addition to her career at Mallory, she enjoyed being a homemaker. Marie was a member of Shiloh Church of God of the Prophecy for over sixty years where she served as a longtime Sunday School Teacher. When not at church, she could be found reading her bible. Marie loved being Gran Gran to her great-grandchildren and playing with her dog Sweetie.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Paul Ernest "Shorty" Howard who died December 5, 2017, sisters Jean England, Nell Luna, Zona Greenwood and Judy Moore.

Survivors include her two sons: Paul Douglas (Tricia) Howard, Timothy Dewayne Howard all of Sparta

Daughter: Anna Howard (Burt) Randolph

Grandchildren: Jessica (Casey) Lemons, Rachel Lee-Ann (Joey) Sheets

Two Great-grandsons: Mason Sheets and Lincoln Howard Lemons

Great-granddaughter: Lainey Lemons

Sister: Betty Sue (J.C.) Slatten

Brothers: Gerald (Peggy) Adcock and Dennis Adcock

Brothers-in-law:  Bobby Jack Greenwood, Ralph Howard and Gary (Marilee) Howard

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Monday, July 24, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Robinson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00pm Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home. Chad Bagley and Jared Moore will officiate.

Jared Moore, Darrell Slatten, Charlie Hickey, Randy Adcock, Kenneth Whiteaker and Cameron Howard will serve the family as pallbearers.
