Mr. Dibrell Lee Young, Jr., affectionately known as Junior, age 79 of Sparta, passed away at 6:12am Friday morning October 21, 2022 at Signature Health Care in Algood, Tennessee.

Junior was born December 4, 1942 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Dibrell Lee and Daisy Belle Jones Young. He was a retired block and brick mason and veteran of the United States Army and National Guard. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sisters Fannie Brock and Lillie Belle Barlow; brothers James Cecil Young and Johnny Young.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years Rita McCoy Young

Daughter: Nichole Lee (Greg) Jackson

Grandchildren: Lee (Bashi) Griffin, Austin McCoy, Kelly (Nathan) Jackson and Tara (Will) Harris

Four great-grandchildren

Sisters: Clara Mae Thompson, Gladys Garrell, Josephine Pittman, Debbie Young, Lora Ann Stouder and husband Shawn, Georgia Marie Brown and husband Mike

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, October 24, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in McCoy Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Benningfield will officiate.
