Mr. Donald Ralph Wilson, affectionately known as Don, age 75 of Sparta, passed away at 4:33am Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at NHC of Sparta with his family by his side.

Don was born February 13, 1950 in Clarkrange, Tennessee to the late John Haskel and Golda Lee Key Wilson. He dedicated his life to law enforcement for the White County Sheriff's Department, Sparta Police Department and administrating the White County Jail. Don enjoyed playing guitar and was an antique gun enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by son Jonathan Spakes; sister Doris Caton and brother David Wilson; mother of his children Brenda Fish Wilson.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years Beverly Copeland Wilson

Daughters: Ann Wilson Ake and husband Chris, Karen Buchanan and husband Steven

Son: Joshua Spakes

Grandchildren: Jared Ake and Emilee Ake

In honor of Don's wishes, Hunter Funeral has been entrusted with his cremation and a memorial service will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, May 31, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Phillip Luna will officiate.
