Mrs. Dorothy Elva Carter Bentley, age 78 of Sparta, a native of Michigan passed away at 9:56am on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

Dorothy was born January 30, 1943 in Trenton, Michigan to the late William and Gladys Doneaud Carter. She was a retired General Motors stock chaser. She had an artistic ability and loved to paint. Dorothy enjoyed yard sales, traveling and watching mystery shows on television. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a brother David Carter.

Surviving family members include her husband of 38 years Eddie Dean Bentley

Step-son: Jason Bentley

Brother: James Carter and wife Susan

Sister: Judith Barker

Nieces: Carol Lee, Jennifer, Kim, Karen, Sherry, Jimmie and Cheryl

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Gravel Hill Cemetery. James Duke will officiate. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
