Douglas Earl Bauknecht, born September 24, 1956 in Green Bay Wisconsin, passed from our world at his home on December 24, 2020. He is survived by his partner, Susan Kendall, his son Kenny, his daughter Jordan, stepson Zane, his spouse Tasha and three siblings, Christine, Linda and Laurie, their spouses, Bruce Loppnow, Jack Hicks, Gary Williams and 4 grandchildren: Daja, Izabell, Ryder and Bryson. Susan was his ultimate soulmate, whom he met 20 years ago, and they shared a loving, meaningful and joyful life together. He will always be remembered by those who loved and knew him as incredibly kind, loving and giving. He was a fun guy to hang out with, to share a beer with or just to trade a joke with. He had a zest for life as he pursued his passions; hunting, barbecuing, and smoking, meticulously crafting beautiful objects such as knives and wooden sculptures. He enjoyed the good times hanging out with family and friends at Center Hill lake, either on their houseboat or cruising on their pontoon boat. Doug also had a special love affair with his other special soulmate, his dog Piper.

Doug served his country in the US Army cavalry corps from 1973 to 1977 as a combat engineer and mounted color guard. He worked in the oil fields of Texas, but his most successful career was in the field of insurance sales where he served his customers with care, honesty and diligence for over 25 years. All those who knew him, all those who loved him, his dog Piper, will surely miss his presence, his being, and his place in their lives.

Memorial services with military honors are being planned for the spring.
