Mr. Eric Lee Eaton, age 77 of Cookeville, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Eric was born June 9, 1948 in Sharpsville, Indiana to the late Earl Lee and Mary Louise Roller Eaton. Eric received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University. His most notable work experience was as the plant manager at Mallory for 30 years. Eric was an avid golfer.  He was a longtime fixture at the Sparta Country Club, where he served on the Board of Directors. In addition to golf, he loved spending time aboard his boat on the river. Eric also enjoyed traveling, often making trips to China for Mallory.

Surviving family members include his wife of 21 years, Fonda Eaton

Two sons: Ryan Eaton and partner Shane, Todd Eaton and wife Katie

Step children: Kelly Johnson and husband Matt, Rebecca Marshall and husband Chris

Grandchildren: Alivia Bradley, Shelby Eaton, Ellie Eaton, Audrey Eaton, Abigail Eaton and Nolan Johnson

Sister: Deborah Fenstermaker and husband Bill

Brother: Ethan Lynn Eaton and partner Tim

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, March 2, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Sand Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Randall Kirby will officiate.

Bill Brockman, Michael Austin, Todd Eaton, Rick Henry, Chris Marshall, Matt Johnson, Wayne Miller and Ryan Eaton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Monte Manus and Bruce Frasier.
