Mrs. Ernestene Dodson Goodwin, age 87 of the Hampton Crossroads Community, passed away at 3:25pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.

Ernestene was born July 12, 1937 in the Big Bottom Community of White County to the late Frank and Verna Mae Guy Dodson. She was a retired packaging coordinator for Porelon, Inc. in Cookeville, Tennessee. In her retirement years, she will be remembered for her Little Ole House Antique shop near her home. Ernestene was quite active with the UT Extension Agency Home Demonstration Club, and she looked forward to entering her crafts in the fair every year. She was a longtime member of Pistole Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Hollis Lee Goodwin who died July 15, 2012; sister Martha Brasel and brother Billy Wade Dodson.

Survivors include her daughter Sherry Cunningham and husband Earl of Cookeville

Grandchildren: Clint Peterman and wife Kayla of Cookeville, Jacob Peterman and wife Kimberly of Knoxville and William Peterman and wife Hannah of Thailand

Great-grandchildren: Channing, Camille, Wren, Shepherd, Chance and Hinny Peterman

Step-granchildren: Noelani Cunningham and Kalani Cunningham

Sister: Carolyn Goff and husband Richard

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, January 6, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Howard Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Clint Walker will officiate.

Clint Peterman, Jacob Peterman, Richard Goff, David Goff, Jeff Sliger and Robert Dalton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are William Peterman and Jeff Cunningham
