Mrs. Evelyn Marie Davis Seibers, age 79 of Sparta, passed away at 1:04am on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Evelyn was born January 16, 1947 in Sparta to the late James Roy and Clarkie Holland Davis. Evelyn grew up working on the family farm. That work ethic carried over to a long career as a seamstress with Red Kap and ultimately retiring from Casual Apparel. Evelyn loved nature - from being an avid gardener to watching and feeding the birds. She will be fondly remembered as a cat lover and working Johnny Hyder's auctions every Saturday night. She served her community for many years as an election worker. Evelyn was a proud member of the White County Class of 1965 and has been a member of Mt. Gilead Methodist Church for over 50 years.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Tommy Seibers who died August 24, 2020; sister Gail Davis and brother-in-law James Arzie Miller.

Surviving family members include her three sisters, Linda Young and husband Tony, Brenda Miller, Kay Smotherman and husband Eddie

Nieces: Glenda Sue Miller and Lisa Robinson

Nephews: Josh Smotherman, DJ Smotherman and Tony Ray Young

A host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday, April 2, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Perry Clayton will officiate.

DJ Smotherman, James Seibers, Joe Ed Moore, Mike Holland, Mark Holland and Tony Ray Young will serve the family as pallbearers.
