Ms. Francis Marie Norris affectionately known by family and friends as Virgie, age 73, passed away unexpectedly at 11:56am Tuesday, May 10, 2022 just four days after the death of her son Allen Williams.

Virgie was born September 4, 1948 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Carson Wade & Charles Arvilda "Bill" Clemmons Norris. Virgie retired from Tri-State Distribution as a Warehouse Packer. She loved to read books and work puzzle books. She enjoyed doing arts, crafts and painting rocks. When she was not enjoying a good book, she was tuning in to professional wrestling three nights a week. In addition to her parents and son, she is also preceded in death by her husband Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Williams; brothers Thomas Wade Norris and Frank Leslie Norris.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Lisa (Jason) Sparkman and Cindy (Shawn) Smith

Son: Gene (Misty) Williams

Grandchildren: Zach, Chris, Josh S., Katrina, Kim, Travis, Richard, Kayla, Dakota, John Tyler, Kristina, Tyler, Jay, Josh I., Nicholas and Alana

Brother: Edward "Butch" Norris and wife Nancy

Two sisters: Dorothy Dean Selby and Judy Fisher

Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive

A joint funeral service for Virgie and her son Allen will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, May 12, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8:00 at Hunter Funeral Home. Nathan Hawkins will officiate.

Travis Williams, Chris Williams, Jay Iceman, Logynn Loftin, Kelly Selby, Timmy Selby, Tyler Smith and Richard Griffin will serve as pallbearers.
