Frederick Eugene Crozier

Mr. Frederick Eugene Crozier, affectionately known as Gene to many, age 97 passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at his home in Walling, Tennessee.

Gene was June 7, 1929 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Orla and Blanche Bennet Crozier. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1951-1953. Following his military service, he worked at Delco Remy of General Motors in Anderson, Indiana for thirty years. Gene’s retirement years were spent traveling to as many states as possible alongside his late wife, Rosie Wise Crozier. They made Okeechobee, Florida their home in 1990. Rosie called it home until her death in 2019 and Gene’s home until 2024, when he realized he couldn’t live alone safely. Gene moved to Walling, Tennessee to live with Dallas and Jo Scherer (his nephew and wife) for the rest of his life. He was constantly amazed at the many trees on the way to town. He enjoyed the content in most days among so much natural beauty. Many days were spent reminiscing of the years past and time spent with family. Gene will be fondly remembered for all the family vacations made to his home in Florida and the holidays spent in the large family’s homes that stand out as a picture of gathered love. Grandma Grace, Aunt Rosie, and Gene’s sister, Dorothy were three angels on earth.

The Crozier family is grateful to The Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church and the Lord’s Chapel members that made him feel welcome to enjoy his last days on earth. Their Spirit and support gave him enough love to find some happiness without his wife.

In addition, the Crozier family would like to thank Beacon Home Health Care and Doctor Robert Knowles who supplied the medical care that extended Gene’s life to 97 years.

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Gene’s cremation and his cremated remains will be buried next to his beloved wife, Rosie in Cicero, Indiana.

Finding the sense of purpose requires a belief that you are very blessed to live another day.
