Mr. Gary Allen Hobbs, age 71 of Cantonment, Florida, a native of Sparta, went home to be with his Lord on March 17, 2022 with his loving wife, Sandra, holding his hand. Gary fought a long and courageous battle with bladder cancer.

Gary was born June 15, 1950 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Allen Alonzo and Mildred Joan Wilson Hobbs. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his grandparents, paternal grandparents, W.M. & Ritta Hobbs; maternal grandparents Arthur and Nanny Wilson. Gary earned a masters degree in electrical engineering at Tennessee Tech University. He went on to have a 43 years career at Ascend Performance in Gonzales, Florida.

Gary was saved and baptized at an early age. He walked closely with the Lord all of his life. He was a kind, loving and generous man who always put others before himself. Gary dearly loved spoiling his granddaughters, Addie and Ella.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 48 years Sandra Hobbs of Cantonment, Florida

Daughter: Jennifer Hobbs McElroy & husband Steve of Newberry, Florida

Granddaughters: Addie McElroy, Ella McElroy both of Newberry, Florida

Sister: Rhonda Tolbert & husband Charles of Sparta, Tennessee

Nephew: John Patrick Bumbalough & wife Wanda of Shepherdsville, KY

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at First Community Church with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends after noon on Tuesday at the church.  Joe Akridge and John Wilson will officiate.

Charles Tolbert, John Bumbalough, Steve McElroy, Bruce Messenger, Lynn Tolbert and David Dyer will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Hobbs, Jim Sorrell, Russ Hale and David Merriman
