Mr. George Alan Hill, age 84 of Sparta, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.

George was born March 8, 1939 in Overton County to the late Auman Claston and Frona Louetta Hawkins Hill. George devoted many years of his life to the service of his country. After four years in the Navy, he served for 20 years in the United States Air Force National Guard where he retired as a Tech Sergeant. After his military retirement, he worked as a butcher and meat manager for Kroger. George had a love for his farm and classic cars, especially Rat Rods. He was a longtime member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his wife, Marian Jean Hill, his brothers, Glenn Hill and David Hill, his sisters Barbara Pettit and Brenda Bryant, his son Robert Hill, his daughter Cinde Hill, and a grandson, Ian Hill.

George is survived by two sons, Wade and Derrick Hill of Smithville, TN, his

Daughter: Dawn Hill Kilcullen and her husband Jim Kilcullen of Clarksville, TN,

Surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren include: Scott(Andrea) and Amber Hill, Austin Garza-Kilcullen(Carlotta), Ashley Kilcullen(Josh), Jonas, Madelyn, Reese Hill, Isabell and George Hill

His very special friend: Jodi Cole of Sparta, TN

Sisters: Andrea Faye, Joanna, Betty, Connie, Dorene and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday, December 30, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in Taylors Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bob Scoggins will officiate.

Rick Dildine, Erick Dildine, Scott Hill, Austin Kilcullen, Ryan Howell, Matthew Pettit, Ben Dildine, Thomas Beltz, Hudson Beltz and Carson Bumbalough will serve the family as pallbearers.
