Mrs. Gladys Jeanettee Thompson Brown, age 88 of Sparta went dancing on the Streets of Gold at 11:13am on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at her residence.

Gladys was born June 8, 1934 in Sparta, Tennessee, one of the seven children born to the late William Albert and Della Fannie Brock Thompson. She retired from Mallory on September 1, 1998 and has worked at the Senior Citizens Center and has been a fixture at their Friday and Saturday night dances since. She was an avid Square Dancer and had a lifelong love of dancing. She loved clothes and especially shoes. She loved all of her family and extended family and would always let them know she loved them by telling them everytime they were together. She will be remembered for always saying, "Dancing Feet are Happy Feet."

In additon to her parents and six siblings, she is also preceded in death by her husband Claude Junior "Sonny" Brown; granddaughter Tabatha Darlene Pope; great-grandchildren Hadyn and Olivia Pope.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her two sons Rickie Claude (Carlene) Brown and Timmie Lee Brown

Grandchildren: Mindy Harville, Rickie Brown, Mary Stewart, Robin Peek, Ricky Dale Pope, Ryan Pope, Brandon Howell, Timothy Brown and Jarod Brown

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Friday, October 28, 2022 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 1:00pm Friday at Hunter Funeral Home. Arnold Conley will officiate.

Hunter Pope, Adam Baker, Chris Conley, Brandon Howell, Timothy Brown, Jarod Brown, Clint Staggs and Becky Staggs will serve the family as pallbearers.
