Howard Ray Johnson "Nip", age 87 of Lakeland, Florida formerly of Sparta passed away at his daughters residence in Guntersville on Sunday, July 4, 2021.  He was born October 16, 1933 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Melvin and Lela Goldtrap Johnson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Anna Speck Johnson, a son:  Danny Johnson and a grandson:  Shawn Johnson.

Howard was a retired lineman for a power company in Lakeland Florida.

He is survived by his 2 daughters:  Carolyn Sullens of Lakeland, Florida and Pamela Carr of Guntersville, Alabama

6 Grandchildren:  Tracie McCormick, Brandy Markum, Donna Johnson, Elizabeth Swisher, Jamie Carr and Jeffery Carr

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Oaklawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time on Thursday.
