Mrs. Ieda Dodson Broom, age 88 of Sparta, passed away at 11:35pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Broom was born February 19, 1935 in Campaign, Tennessee to the late Kermit William and Delma Lee Ford Dodson. She retired from Mallory with over 25 years of service. A longtime member of Bon Air Church of God, she was strong in her faith - enjoying reading her bible and watching religious programming on television in her spare time. Mrs. Broom loved cooking and crocheting for her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Everette Broom; her daughter and son in law Teresa Everlene and Terry Selby; infant sisters Dorothy Jean and Mary Alice Dodson.

Surviving family members include her twin grandsons Trent Selby and wife Brittany, Tyler Selby and wife Amanda all of Sparta

Great-grandchildren: Tanner Selby and Kaden Selby

Brother: James Dodson and wife Jewel of Alcoa, TN

Sister: Evelyn Mynatt of Knoxville, TN

Nephews: Brian Hodges and wife Kelly and David Hodges and wife Dina

A host of cousins and extended relatives also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, October 21, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Stringtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00pm Friday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Jack Dean and Bro. Richard Felts will officiate.

Brian Hodges, David Hodges, J.T. LeTulle, Justin Randolph, Michael Dale Guy and Dustin Hendrix will serve the family as pallbearers.
