Sparta
Irma Jean Amerson, also known as Mimi, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022. Born on January 5, 1933, in Pampa, Texas, she was the only child of William and Irma McWright. In 1959 she married the love of her life, a handsome Chickasaw and brave soldier, James Amerson. They were married for 54 years until his death in 2014. They had three children, Janet (beloved son-in-law Brent) Tevebaugh of Sparta, TN, William Amerson of Oklahoma City, OK, and Holly Braziel of Blair, Oklahoma. Mimi also had seven grandchildren Amanda (Lee) Carmichael of Chattanooga, TN, Ashlee (jason) Roberts of Sparta, Zack (Kari) Tevebaugh of Sparta, Jeremy (Katie) Braziel of Guthrie, Ok, Jenny (Austin) Leverett of Altus, Ok. Mandi Stapp of Bethel Ok, Caleb (Kristi) of Choctaw, OK and they multiplied giving her sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Although her favorite color was purple, she also had a thing for red since she enjoyed her time as a Red Hat Lady and made a killer red velvet cake. She was always present at all the 4-H and FFA events her children were involved in. She also spent much of her time supporting her husband in his many worthy endeavors so she always had a cause near and dear to her heart.
