Mr. Johynathen Edward Taylor, better known as J.T., age 62 of Sparta, passed away at 3:13pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

J.T. was born October 4, 1963 in Corona, California. He served as a custodian for White County High School for 30 years. He enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains and was an avid fisherman. J.T. spent his Sundays watching NASCAR especially in the years when the #3 was intimidating on the track.

J.T. is preceded in death by son James Edward Taylor who died May 8, 2016; sister Melana Rena Taylor and beloved mother in law Dimple Burris.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife Sharon Taylor

Grandchildren: Colton Taylor, Kaitlynn Taylor, Dallas Harris, Brody McCurry, Olivia Jennings, Eren McCurry, Nora Dean McCurry and Aiden Moles

Two brothers: Charles (Loretta) Taylor and Michael Allen Taylor

Sister: Susan Annette Green

Step-son: Jason McCurry

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, November 29, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Frasers' Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Chet Taylor, Jacob Smith, Gary Taylor, Tony Davis, Mark Smith and Gaberill Mendoza will serve as pallbearers
