Mr. James Edward Kirby, age 69 of Sparta, passed away Thursday evening, December 14, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

James Edward was born April 27, 1954 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Elmer Register and Willie Dorothy Stoglin Kirby. He was a former farm laborer. If you did not find James Edward fishing, then he would be guaranteed to be found tinkering on something. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his son Brian Kirby; sister Betty Sue Kirby and brother Jeff Kirby.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his daughter Erica Kirby of Sparta

Granddaughter: Peyton Steerman

Siblings: Randall Kirby, Terry Kirby, David Kirby, Shirley Kirby, Jamie Kirby, Karla Kirby and Becky Frasier all of Sparta

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Sunday, December 17, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Rice Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home.
