Mr. James Arzie Miller, Jr.,  age 70 of Sparta, passed away at 12:25pm Saturday, December 11, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

James Arzie was White County's first baby born in 1951 when he was born on January 2, 1951 to the late Iola Mildred Wilson Miller and James Arzie Miller, Sr. He was a well known timber trader and logger with his specialty in Walnut and White Oak Veneer logs. He loved being on his Bone Cave Mountain farm with his four wheeler, especially when  friends from all over the area would join him for "Arziefest"-  monthly four wheeler rides and pot luck meals in the summer. In addition, he was also a farmer and proud republican party supporter.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Brenda Miller

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Laurel Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Billy Lowery will officiate.

Kenneth "Kokomo" McCormick, Allen Maples, Jacob Maples, Jimmy Hodges, Wayne Simons, Ray Melton, Rod Gamble and Sheriff Steve Page will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Bivins, Joe Bivins, Duane Carter, Monte Grissom, Dale Keisling, Charlie Jackson, Art Nielson and Temple Bowling.

The register book will be available Monday from 8am until 4pm and Tuesday after 8am in the parlor of Hunter Funeral Home for friends that are not comfortable being in a crowd.
