James Milus Weaver

James Milus Weaver, Beloved Father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on August 21st, 2026.at the age of 80 years old at his home surrounded by loved ones.

James Milus Weaver was born to Milus Avery Weaver and Willa Ruth Vinson Weaver on September 28th, 1945, in Sparta Tennessee. In 1964 James Graduated from East Nashville High School. Also, in 1964 James joined the Marines Where he served 4 years in being in the Vietnam war in 1967 and 1968, he was awarded the National Defense service medal, air medal (7th award), Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device. Vietnam Service medal w/2 *, Presidential Unit Citation and the Combat Aircrewman Insignia w/3* He left the Marines as a Sargent and honorable discharge in 1968.

In 1975 James Graduated from NewMexico State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical engineering with honors. In 1969 James married the love of his life Joye LaNell Ward. They were married for 54 years when Joye passed away in 2023.

James worked for the college of Saint Benedicts for about 20 years. He was known for his quick wits, ability to adapt to the rising situations at work retired as a computer programmer analyst and database analyst. He had a love of family and of books.

James Weaver is survived by his sons Michael (Charlotte) Weaver and James “Gabe” (Lori) Weaver; grandchildren Joann, Hannah, Rebekah, James, Sophia, Jonathan” JD”, and Savannah; Great grandchildren Solomon, Olivia, and Timothy; sister Nelda Tribute; brother Ronnie. And many loving relatives and friends.

James was preceded in Death by his parents Milus Avery Weaver and Willa Ruth Vinson Weaver; Wife Joye Lanell Weaver; sisters Ruth Carolyn Weaver, Rita Diane Weaver Rippy.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00pm Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Oak Lawn Cemetery with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
