Mr. Jack Ronald Massa, Jr., affectionately known as Jay age 54 of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly at 5:32pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 in the emergency room of St. Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta.

Jay was born November 25, 1970 in Jacksonville, Florida. Jay was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a gentle giant with a sly sense of humor. His journey on earth was one marked by love and compassion.

Those who knew Jay will remember him for his infectious smile and loud overwhelming laughter. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by him. If you needed something repaired, Jay was your guy. He saw no junk, only potential. He loved children and animals. He also loved hunting, going to the lake or creek rock hunting and riding motorcycles and four wheelers.

Jay is preceded in death by his father Jack Ronald Massa, Sr., sister Angie Massa

The Massa family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with Jay's cremation and visitation with family will be from 5-8:00pm Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Hunter Funeral Home.
