Mr. Thomas Jeffrey Smith better known as Jeff, age 65 of Doyle, passed away at 12:09pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Jeff was born May 28, 1959 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Kenneth Sherman and Betty Jean Crockett Smith. He proudly provided for his family as a farmer. As well as being an avid hunter, he was a fixture at youth sporting events cheering on the athletes that affectionately knew him as "Pa". In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Sherry Beth Cope Smith who died on January 1, 2020; brothers Phillip and David Smith.

Surviving family members include his daughter Emilee Groce and husband Jacob of Doyle

Son: Shane Smith and wife Amanda of Sparta

Grandchildren: Rylee Groce, Maddox Groce, Carsen Smith and Asher Smith

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Friday, December 20, 2024 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Thursday and after 10:00am Friday at Hunter Funeral Home. Tracy Curtis will officiate.

Shane Smith, Jacob Groce, Paul Reese, Brandon Smothers, Chris Green and Travis Poss will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Maddox Groce, Carsen Smith and Asher Smith
